相信大家对《冰河世纪》第一部中的松鼠和那枚橡果还记忆犹新吧，而这一部《冰河消融》无论角色如何增减，那只对橡果怀有惊人狂热激情的犬齿松鼠斯科特依然是《冰河世纪》的金字招牌。斯科特为了橡果不惜上山下海挑战极限，还要和食肉鱼比划功夫，而他的橡果行动再次把冰河时代的生死存亡带到让人哭笑不得的境地。
冰原历险故事：
地球上的冰河期就快要结束了，大大小小的动物们都在欢天喜地庆祝水世界的即将来临，一片歌舞升平。然而迪亚哥、希德和蛮尼在享受和煦阳光的同时却发现大势不妙，融化的雪水即将淹没他们的村庄，他们必须承担起警告所有居民从灾区撤离的艰巨任务。
冰原三兄弟挥军南征，沿途勇渡危险的地表，到安全处避难。旅程中爱斗嘴的他们相互扶持，有难同当，直到蛮尼奇迹般地遇见了伊丽，她是世界上仅存的母长毛象。第一次见证兄弟陷入情网，希德和迪亚哥很无奈，其实蛮尼也很头疼，因为从小由两只负鼠养大的伊丽，无法忍受蛮尼，因为她始终觉得自己是一只负鼠。偏偏这场破冰之旅，还万万少不了伊丽。一群好朋友在这一集中，完成了比上一集更刺激更惊奇的历险旅程。
历险阵容介绍：
SCRAT 斯科特
这只史前松鼠，终日抱着他的橡果，在上一集中成为最抢戏的角色。这一次斯科特还是继续他的橡果追逐之旅，水中、泥泞、空中……不过在这次的融冰洪水中，斯科特可能成为英雄呢！
MANNY 蛮尼
以外表上看，蛮尼是个又高又大的巨无霸，他是一头全身披覆着长毛，体重约一万镑的大象。事实上，在冰原好伙伴中，蛮尼最多愁善感了。
SID 希德
见多识广，聪明机智，字字珠玑……这些特质希德完全都不具备，相反，废话又多又嗦，但是希德也是冰原上最值得信任的好朋友。
DIEGO 迪亚哥
动物成员中的肉食者。迪亚哥本来是剑齿虎中最凶的，但是现在他是这群怪胎冒险成员中个性最温和的。
ELLIE 伊丽
伊丽是一只认为自己是负鼠的母长毛象，而且深信不疑，所以她的行为举止及个性经常让蛮尼不知所措。伊丽经常像带着行李一般，带着她两个负鼠兄弟可拉鼠跟爱迪一起出现。
CRASH & EDDIE 可拉鼠和爱迪
这是一对负鼠兄弟。可拉鼠是树林里的弹跳高手，胆量十足，再宽的河也敢跳，再凶的动物也敢惹。爱迪跟他是兄弟，他们总是结伴在一起，爱迪的个性相对就温和多了。

[Ellie falls out of the tree]
Manny:[incredulous] You really think she's the girl for me?
Sid: Sure. She's tons of fun, and you're no fun at all. She completes you.
Manny: Uh, Diego, retract the claws please.
Diego: Oh... right... sorry.
Sid: You know, if I didn't know you better， Diego, I'd think you were afraid of the water!
[Diego grabs Sid's neck and strangles him]
Sid: OK, Good thing I know you better!
Sid: Maybe we could rapidly evolve into water creatures.
Diego: That's genius Sid.
Sid: Call me, Squid.
Sid: [after an elaborate dance sequence which ends in him getting tied up] This is either really good or really bad.
Sid: If your species will continue, clap your hands.
[clap clap]
Sid: We're going to live!
[Water rises up to his ankles]
Sid: We're going to die!
Eddie: What if we're the last animals left alive? We'll have to repopulate the earth!
Sid: Manny, who do you like better, me or Diego?
Manny: Diego. No contest.
Ellie: Manny, you can't pick favorites with your kids!
Manny: He's not my kid. He's not even my dog. If my dog had a kid, and that kid had a pet, that would be Sid.
Sid: Manny, can I have a dog?
Manny: No.
Sid: Ellie, can I have a dog?
Ellie: Sure, sweetie.
Manny: Ellie, we have to be consistent with them!
Diego: If anyone asks, there were fifty of em... And, uh... They were rattlesnakes.
Sid: Miscreants? Diego, they are possums.
Diego: That ice is looking pretty thin.
Sid: Sure it's thin. But it's strong enough to hold a 10 tonne mammoth and a 9 tonne possum.
Sid: I'm just trying to help you get over your fear of the water.
Diego: Fear is for prey!
Sid: Then that means the water has made you its prey!
Diego: [to the water] I am NOT your prey. I am NOT your prey! I am NOT...YOUR ... PREY!
[jumps in]
