“原谅”别人的“道歉”

在英语中表示“道歉”、“歉意”和“原谅”的词语不少。对同学们来说，重要
的是学会如何在不同的语境中，正确使用纯正的英语来表达。
A. sorry是表示“道歉”、“歉意”的一个常用语，主要用于以下语境中：
1. 忘记做某事时。
— Hello! Tom, who are they?
你好，汤姆。他们是谁？
— Oh, sorry, this is Lily, and this is Maria.
噢，很抱歉，这是莉丽，这是玛丽亚。
2. 当自己出现错误或失误时。
— Excuse me. Are you Mr Zhang?
打扰了。你是张先生吗？
— No, I'm not. I'm Mr Li.
不是，我是李先生。
— Oh, sorry. 噢，对不起。
3. 当自己不能给对方提供帮助时。
— Tom, could you help me, please?
汤姆，能帮帮忙吗？
— Sorry. I'm busy now.
对不起，我正忙着呢。
4. 打扰别人后，要道声sorry。
I'm sorry to trouble you.
很抱歉，麻烦你了。
5. 接电话，对方要找的人不在时。

6. 不能回答对方提出的问题时。

7. 当自己迟到时。
I'm sorry, I'm late. Because the traffic is bad.
对不起，我迟到了。因为交通很糟糕。
B. Excuse me是向某人询问一件事，或提出请求而打扰某人时的常用语，意为 “
打扰了”、“对不起”、“请问”。它常用于下列场合：
1. 请求对方给予帮助或向对方询问问题时。
Excuse me. May I ask you a question?
对不起，我可以问你一个问题吗？
Excuse me. Is that your father?
请问，那是你父亲吗？
2. 向陌生人问路或者问事时。
Excuse me. Which is the way to the school, please?
打扰一下，请问去学校的路是哪一条？
Excuse me. Are you Tom?
请问，你是汤姆吗？
3. 在不得不打断对方说话时。
Excuse me for interrupting you.
对不起，打断你一下。
4. 在迟到时，也可以用Excuse me表示歉意。
Excuse me for being late.
对不起，迟到了。
Excuse me主要指“请问”或因给别人添麻烦而“对不起”；sorry则强调因自己
的过错、失误而不能做某事，或因不能满足对方的请求而表示歉意，意为 “对不
起”、“抱歉”等。
— Excuse me. Whose pen is this?
打扰了。这是谁的钢笔？
— Sorry, I don't know.
对不起，我不知道。
C. 表示道歉的词语很多，以上只是其中的一些常用的表达法。反过来，当别人向
我们道歉时，一般情况下，我们可以用以下句子表示“没关系”这个意思。
Not at all.That's all right.
Don't worry about it. Forget it.
当别人抱歉不能前来时，礼貌的回答应该是：
I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you'll be able to come another time.
很遗憾你不能来。希望你下次能来。
